Re: Yamaha Riva XC180 shop manual

If you find an English only Riva 180 manual let me know. I scoured the internet for shop manuals today and added about 10 to the downloads page (but mostly Vespa, SYM, Kymco). Well, as luck would have it... I have an English only Riva 180 manual and I'm willing to scan it to PDF... but not before n...

What he said !!

I have a colleague who recently bought a Chinese scooter... only one year old... and affordable. Now he's in my office regularly to share his tales of woe.

Re: Vacuum piston diaphragm for '83 Yamaha XC180

Well, I spoke with a couple mechanics and I'm changing the diaphragm. Local Yamaha dealer wanted $280 CDN for one but I managed to locate one in the US for a third of that price. It is being shipped via FEDEX today. I also found out something interesting... it seems the Riva shares the same vacuum p...

Vacuum piston diaphragm for '83 Yamaha XC180

Good afternoon folks !! I finally screwed up my courage enough to start cleaning the carb in my '83 Yamaha Riva. The carb bowl had the usual nasties in it but what worries me the most is the "wilted" appearance of the vacuum piston diaphragm. It is not torn and still looks good... despite its appear...

Re: New to me '83 Yamaha Riva 180cc

Quick update on the scooter... New front fork, brakes and tires are on !! Followed the instructions on the website for splitting the Riva and working on the carb. The diagrams worked great !! I found some disconnected hoses, a cracked hose and one with a broken nipple inside it. I used some JB Weld ...

Re: My Russian car will be in a movie

Well, good news... I am not the last Lada 2104 owner in Canada !! I confirmed via contacts that there is still one in almost road-worthy condition in Saskatchewan and one being tinkered on in Alberta. Also, I found out a week ago that there is another 2104 in a storage unit in a small town 90 minute...

Re: Yamaha Riva Trunk

Wow, a stock Yamaha trunk... nice.

I suggest talking to your local Yamaha dealer as that looks like a proprietary key... not something your local locksmith can make up for you.

Good luck !!

P.S. I'd love to see some pics of your Riva 200 !!

Hilarious that a Jeep called "Liberty" makes us a slave of the pump !!!

That is precisely why I love scooters so much.

Can't wait to get my "new to me" '83 Yamaha Riva 180cc on the road.

I recently put on new tires but stayed with the 10" size.

Seems to me 12" would rub ??
