Hi there everyone.
I live in the UK and am taking my motorcyle test in a few months. I’ve had a little experience with motorcycles, on closed rodes ofcourse, but am now buying one for all-year riding. I’ve read reviews on both of these bikes, and almost all of them have been glowing. My mate had a CBR400 that i rode a couple of times and that was great, but i think i prefere the look of the VFR, although not enough to make up my mind.
In terms of cost i think they are pretty even, so that isn’t really too much of an issue. That also goes for insurance, where they came out EXACTLY the same
Anyway, any views/advice is greatly welcomed
Thanks in advance!December 15, 2009 at 12:39 am #23712briderdtParticipantMan, the low-displacement market is weak here.

Seriously I envy the HELL out you UK types, I’ve trolled eBay motors UK a number of times and the 400 sports that are like $8000 collectors gold here in the US are $12 and $1400. Anyway, I used to have a VFR700F2 and I love the character of the Honda V4, so that’s what I would recommend, not that I have any real experience to back it up being a small-displacement deprived American.

They’re not super common here, but there are enough around to make them ‘another bike’.
It looks like i’m still leaning towards the VFR, not sure though…December 16, 2009 at 11:42 pm #23749XRayHoundParticipantThe only 400 sport we ever officially got was the Yammie FZR400, for a far too short span of two years. And it came at a really poor time, when its aluminum frame and top suspension made it more expensive that the FZR600, and us dumb Americans being dumb, they sold like crap for that reason. Now they’re collector’s gold too, but at least they’re easily titled and tagged collector’s gold, unlike the other 400s and 250s.
