Rogue motorcyclist riding fast bike is sought by police
At least stupid is wearing a helmet.
Some of the comments below the article are choice.
July 2, 2009 at 7:32 am #20381gsmurfetteParticipantWhere he’s been riding…..a lot of those places are like IN TOWN. The speed limits are between 25 and 45 in those areas. It gets up to 55 (maybe 60?) on the way to Palmer, but what a ‘tard. He’s going to outrunning the troopers again, and a moose is going to run out in front of his ass and he’ll be history. Happens pretty regularly in Anchorage. I’ve seen some dumb college students driving there. We were up there for a doctor’s appt. It was the dead of winter, and there was ice and fresh powered snow on top of the ice. This idiot goes zooming past us and weaving through traffic at about 70+. About two miles later, he was flipped over in the median. The guy was like 19. I think he lived, but I bet he doesn’t drive like that anymore. The moose are scary as shit. I wouldn’t want to meet one on a bike let alone any vehicle (even semi’s). I didn’t read all the comments……..the guy probably has a warrant (that was issued before this bike mess) out…..jmo. Anchorage is nuts, that’s why you’ll never find me a resident of that city……Willow….ahhh, sweet Willow!

July 14, 2009 at 2:03 am #20583MunchParticipantYou know… I absolutely do not condone his actions…but the kid in me smiles at the fact that someone is living out their “Smokey and the Bandit” fantasies.
I had the pleasure of talking with a state patrolman today and asked how they deal with bikes that they can keep up with . Especially now the Highway patrol is now on B’mers. He said most everyone behaves and pulls over but if they get “a dumbass on a busa” (his phrasing) that doesn’t stop, they just follow the person and keep ’em in sight to alert the meat wagon as to where to pick up the remaining pieces.July 14, 2009 at 8:01 am #20604EliasParticipant“May God have mercy on his soul.”
No.
July 14, 2009 at 5:43 pm #20610yugen852ParticipantWell, you know, I said “may”. Maybe God will pulverize his ass when he goes to heaven (and then quickly to hell). Who knows, maybe the guy has a serious case of diarrhea and has to go home for a crap, and every time his gunning it, that’s when the cops see him.

July 16, 2009 at 3:16 am #20656owlieParticipantThe Glenn is 65 from Anchorage to the Parks Interchange. It is 55 from then on. For the most part, people drive 65-75 until after the interchange and 55 on into Palmer (assuming good weather).
Frankly, the traffic in Anchorage isn’t nearly as bad as what you find in cities of comparable size. It is one thing that I don’t miss about living in Tulsa, OK.
I think Willow is too far out if you want to commute, but I do know of a few people who make it… I’ll stick with my nice drive in from Palmer anytime….
As for the moose, I generally feel worse for the moose than the drivers. I hope this rider doesn’t meet up with one. I don’t think that he could do enough damage to give the moose a swift ending….
July 16, 2009 at 3:23 am #20658owlieParticipantI agree. On the one hand, it upsets me and angers me that this guy is out there reinforcing the image of irresponsible motorcyclist. On the other hand, it is kinda of marvelous to see someone out there flaunting the rules to live on the edge.
While I doubt it will happen this way, I hope that he gets his kicks out of his blood stream, doesn’t kill someone or get killed, and puts up his racing leathers for good real soon.
July 16, 2009 at 8:53 am #20683gsmurfetteParticipantI don’t know that I want to work in Anchorage. I’m from Kodiak, so Anchorage is huge to me. lol. My worse memory (other than those already mentioned), was rush hour in Anchorage, please just kill me. I guess it’s like that in every city, but I was fuming by the time we got back to our friend’s house…….I’m hoping to work at one of the small flight seeing companies there in Willow. Hubby wants to go to Kenai, but when we were there (a friend’s in the woods), there were so many freakin’ skeeters, I got eaten alive within seconds with long sleeves and jeans. lol. I just want to be within driving distance to go to the mall or something, instead of a plane ride or ferry ride and 4-5 hour drive….. Hope all is well up there, can’t wait to come home!
July 19, 2009 at 4:33 am #20745owlieParticipantI do understand; I’m lucky in that I get to get in and out of town about an hour before the real rush hour starts.
When you move up this way, look me up!
July 19, 2009 at 11:51 pm #20764EliasParticipantEither of you ever been to Petersburg?
July 21, 2009 at 2:41 am #20818owlieParticipantNope. I haven’t spent anytime down in the South East part of the state, though I have heard it is gorgeous…
July 30, 2009 at 11:31 pm #21094owlieParticipantWell, it looks like they probably caught the guy. No wrecks; no one killed. Just good old fashioned police work.
July 31, 2009 at 12:40 am #21096yugen852ParticipantAt least no one got hurt. He must’ve crapped his pants when he received the call at his job. Good ol’ police work. Now, the question is, where is that bike?
