Just finished by Begginner Rider Course. Definitely recommended, very good information & skills learned.
We had 12 in the class, 7 men, 5 women. One woman, dropped the bike on the first day, & just left, didn’t come back. The group had 3 more bikes get laid down, 2 students within minutes of each other on the quick stop in the turn exercise. & just to show you that the instructors can screw up too, one of our guys laid the bike down on the sharp turn demonstration. He was moving pretty good, probably 20-25MPH & dragged the foot peg or muffler on the ground & down he went. Not real encouraging when you see the instructor dump it!
We had 8 of the 11 remaining pass the skills test, I had thought everyone did pretty well, so I was a little suprised when the 3 got left back.
I had a little troube with that darn box turn (figure eight), went a little out of the box, but I think I aced the rest. On my way to the BMV tomorrow to make it official!April 26, 2009 at 11:02 pm #18030nau_lax21Participantcongrats man, in my class we only had one person drop the bike, 25% of the class dropping the bikes seems REALLY high
it sucks but i think its pretty funny that the instructor dropped his bike
