Is 7,200 miles on 2002vino trouble to come?

Post by mopedmike »

Wanting to buy first moped. looking at 2002 Yamaha vino 50cc. It looks sweet for a bike that old. Owner is elderly now. Said he has taken excellent care of it. Asking $750. The high mileage is my concern. I read info on 2002-03 Y-vinos in this guide. Says engine wears out sooner than in newer ones. Thanks guys for your input. MM

Yes two strokes need engine rebuilds more often then four strokes but if you are mechanically inclined then its not much of a problem. If the old boy was just putting around not constant full throttle then the engine will last longer.
How many Kilometers/Miles?
I got my '01 Vino for $650CDN it has 20K on clock and still runs like a top.
